Notice of Fee Changes

The Judicial Council of California has announced that new and changed fees, penalties, and assessments will go into effect in the state’s trial courts effective January 1, 2009.

The changes result from the enactment of Senate Bill 1407 (Perata), Stats. 2008, ch. 311, on September 26, 2008. The legislation authorized up to $5 billion in lease-revenue bonds to finance the construction, rehabilitation, renovation, and replacement of court facilities. The legislation increases civil filing fees and increases or establishes new criminal and traffic fees, penalties, assessments and parking penalties.

The Superior Court of California, County of San Diego, will begin collecting the new and increased fees effective January 1, 2009.
The revised fee schedule will be posted to the Court’s web site at www.sdcourt.ca.gov and available at the Clerk’s Office.
